The 52-Week Low Club for Tuesday

September 29, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 586 equities making new 52-week lows today.

SunEdison Inc. (NYSE: SUNE) dropped about 4.4% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low at $6.66 after closing at $6.97 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $33.45. Share volume was about 10% above the daily average of around 30 million. The solar energy company’s price target was cut at JPMorgan, but the analysts maintained their Buy rating on the stock.

Energy Transfer Equity LP (NYSE: ETE) dropped about 8.2% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $18.63 against a 52-week high of $35.44. The stock closed at $20.29 on Monday night. Volume is about more than triple the daily average of around 6.8 million shares traded. The MLP said on Monday morning that it had agreed to acquire Williams Companies in a cash and stock deal worth nearly $38 billion.

Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE: KMI) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday. Shares dropped about 6.3% to a low of $25.81 from Monday’s closing price of $27.55. The stock’s 52-week high is $44.71. Volume was about 60% higher than the daily average of around 15 million. The company had no specific news today, but concerns about the energy midstream business could be hitting even the biggest players. For the record, Enterprise Products Partners LP (NYSE: EPD, also posted a new 52-week low today.

Williams Companies Inc. (NYSE: WMB) dropped about 4.9% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $34.76 against a 52-week high of $61.38. The stock closed at $36.82 on Monday night. Volume nearly doubled the daily average of around 8.3 million shares traded. The energy transportation company is being acquired Energy Transfer Equity, and today’s new low is about $9 a share below the acquisition price.
