The 52-Week Low Club for Tuesday

March 29, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 36 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session.

Puma Biotechnology Inc. (NYSE: PBYI) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday. Shares traded at a low of $25.20, down nearly 29%, after closing at $35.37 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $244.90. Volume totaled about 5 times the daily average of around 750,000 shares. The company said late Monday that it would delay a filing for its breast cancer drug, and stock was downgraded by RBC Capital Markets.

H&R Block Inc. (NYSE: HRB) dropped about 1% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $26.17 against a 52-week high of $37.53. The stock closed at $26.42 on Monday night. Volume totaled about 2.2 million shares compared with the stock’s daily average volume of around 3.3 million. The tax preparation company had no specific news on Tuesday.

Vivint Solar Inc. (NYSE: VSLR) dropped more than 11% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low at $2.41 after closing at $2.72 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $16.00. Share volume of about 1.6 million was more than double the daily average of around 745,000 shares traded. The solar installation company had no specific news Tuesday.

Hancock Holding Co. (NASDAQ: HBHC) fell by nearly 16% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $20.01 against a high of $32.98. The stock closed at $23.68 on Monday night. Volume rose to around 1.5 million shares, about 50% higher than the daily average of around 900,000 shares traded. The bank holding company increased its first-quarter provision for credit losses and the stock took a downgrade from analysts at Hovde Group.
