July 12, 2017: The S&P 500 closed up 0.7% at 2,443.40. The DJIA closed up 0.6% at 21,532.65. Separately, the Nasdaq closed up 1.1% at 6,261.17.

Wednesday was an incredibly positive day for the U.S. markets. Crude oil pushed higher on the day bringing up the oil & gas stocks, although there were a couple laggards in the group. For the most part, there really weren’t that many stocks posting a loss on Wednesday. On the other hand, everything was positive, led by a strong mega caps tech sector and an overall strong health care sector. Not to mention, the DJIA hit a new record high in intraday trading.
