America’s Most Expensive College Football Tickets

With just a week remaining until the start of the college football season, anticipation is high for fans all across the country. As the game gets closer, many will be out looking for tickets to attend games for their favorite schools. As the top schools get recognition each week in the Top 25 Poll, TiqIQ also complies a Top 25 list of the most expensive college football tickets on the secondary market.

According to TiqIQ, Notre Dame is the top school on the secondary market for the 2015 season. The current average price for Notre Dame football tickets is $290.35, 20.6% more expensive than the next highest school. The home opener for the Fighting Irish against the Texas Longhorns is currently the most expensive game in college football this season with an average price of $820.19 and a get-in price of $364. No other regular season game in college football as a secondary market average above $600.

The biggest mover on this year’s list is the Michigan Wolverines. After a disappointing season and a weak home schedule, Michigan brought in Jim Harbaugh as its new head coach, and hope has come back to the Wolverines program. At an average price of $222.99 across home games, Michigan football tickets on TiqIQ are the third most expensive in the country, jumping 22 spots from last year’s preseason list. Michigan’s most expensive game will unsurprisingly come against the Ohio State Buckeyes on November 28 with an average price of $365.78.

Three SEC schools, Georgia, Texas A&M and Alabama make up the rest of the top five. Both the Bulldogs and Aggies were among the top five last season, and the Crimson Tide, following an appearance in the inaugural College Football Playoff jumped two spots from No. 7 last season. Secondary market Alabama football tickets make that jump despite the three of the biggest games, against Georgia, Mississippi State and Auburn coming on the road.
