For the month of July, Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) added 101 orders for new commercial planes to its order book. The total includes 50 of the single-aisle 737s from unidentified customer(s), 46 767-300F freighters for FedEx Inc. (NYSE: FDX) and five of the 777F freighters for Taiwan’s EVA Air. In June, Boeing took orders for 161 new commercial jets, including 100 737 MAX jets from AerCap Holdings N.V. (NYSE: AER).

Boeing rival Airbus took just 26 new orders in July, including 25 for the new A321neo single-aisle planes from an unnamed customer.

For the first seven months of 2015, Boeing has taken a net 380 new orders, compared with 367 net new orders for Airbus.

Airbus announced an order Thursday morning from International Airlines Group (IAG) for 31 commercial planes. IAG is the parent of British Airways, Iberia and Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling. The order includes 11 wide bodies — eight A350-900s and three A330-200s — and 20 A320neos.

In 2014 Boeing delivered a total of 723 commercial jets and has estimated that it will deliver between 750 and 755 for the full year in 2015. If the company delivers the same number of planes in the second half of the year as it did in the first half, it will sell 762 commercial jets. Last year’s deliveries were the most ever for any aircraft maker, and Boeing seems confident about breaking that record this year.

For the full year, Airbus expects to deliver a “slightly higher” total of commercial jets in 2015 than the 626 it delivered in 2014.
