[cnxvideo id=”625490″ placement=”ros”]It must be hard to find a 4,500 square foot castle on the market for $389,900. There is one, in a very remote area of South Carolina.

The house at 875 White Horse Road Extension, Travelers Rest, South Carolina, has five bedrooms, three full baths and one half-bath. It sits on 10 acres. The house was built in 2005.

Travelers Rest is in the middle of nowhere. It has a population of 4,994. The racial makeup of the city is 77% white and 18% African American. Median household income is low at just under $35,000. A little less than 16% of people live in poverty, which is about the national average.

The closest city to the address is Greenville.

A small section of the listing:

This is a very unique property. It is silent. The wind crosses the ridge and all you can hear is it’s whisper and that of the birds. With the leaves bare as they are now you can see the striking silhouette of their limbs against the blue South Carolina sky, reminding us of why we want this kind of silence in our lives. If this property has caught your attention don’t want to miss this opportunity. We have a septic system, and there is public water. There is a security alarm in the house which can be activated, as well as 3 heating units which keep the well insulated home warm. Let your imagination run wild here. Traveler’s Rest is a very special place. Make it yours. Not everyone can say they live in a castle!

The median value of homes for sale in Travelers Rest is $115,000. By local standards, the house is expensive.
