Asia Markets 12/28/2007 NTT Down, China Unicom Up

Asia markets were lead by a strong performance on the Hang Seng.

The Nikkei was up a fraction at 17,225. Canon was down .9% to 6650. Bridgestone was down 1.5% to 2630. Fuji Film was up .4% to 4930. Hitachi was up .6% to 730. Honda was up 1.1% to 4680. KDDI was up 1.4% to 797000. NTT was down 2.7% to 570000. NEC was .4% to 667. Softbank was down 1.3% to 2355. Sony was down .6% to 5090. Toyota was flat at 7920. Yahoo Japan was down .6% to 47900.

The Hang Seng rose 1.4% to 19,999. Cathay Pacific was up 3.2% to 19.32. China Mobile was up 3% to 67.95. China Netcom was down15.5% to 21.5. China Unicom was up 9.1% to 12.44. HSBC was up .4% to 142.8. PCCW was 1.1% to 4.72.

The KOSPI was .7% to 1,434.

The Straits Times was up .2% to 2,966.

The Shanghai Composite was up 1.2% to 2,568.
