Markets in Europe were up at 5.35 AM New York time.

The FTSE rose .6% to 6,437. Barclays was down .1% to 789.5. BP was up 2.1% to 546. BT was up .2% to 307.25. GlaxoSmithKline was up .1% to 1452. Prudential was up .8% to 705.5. Reuters was up .5% to 425.75. Unilever was was up .3% to 1392. Vodafone was flat at 146.

The DAXX rose .5% to 7,028. Bayer was up .2% to 44.72. DaimlerChrysler was up .2% to 53.93. DeutscheBnak was up .2% to 106.4. Deutsche Telekom was up .9% to 13.92. SAP was up .6% to 35.07. Siemens was down .1% to 84.39.

The CAC 40 was up .9% to 5,767. Alcatel-Lucent was down .4% to 10.05. AXA was up 2.4% to 34.31. France Telecom was down .4% to 21.37. ST Micro was up .5% to 15.23. Vivendi was up .6% to 30.7.
