A report in Taiwan’s Digitimes pours cold water on the expectation that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) will launch its internet television product, iTV, in the second quarter of this year. The paper claims that Apple’s screen supplier, Sharp, will not ship the so-called IGZO screens in time for a Q2 launch.

Sharp has apparently been chosen as Apple’s screen supplier because both Samsung and LG Electronics will be shipping their own new products and require all their production to support those shipments. Sharp’s yield rates on production of the IGZO screens is also a concern according to Digitimes.
