The 52-Week Low Club for Monday

April 6, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 39 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Hewlett- Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) dropped about 1.3% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $31.00 after closing at $31.40 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $41.10. Share volume totaled about half the daily average of around 13.7 million shares traded. The tech giant turned the early setback around and is headed for a close on Monday at around $32.

Apollo Education Group Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL) dropped about 3.9% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $17.73 after closing at $18.44 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $34.55. Share volume was about 30% above the daily average of around 1.7 million shares traded. The for-profit higher education company had no news today.

Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: KORS) dropped about 0.5% on Monday to post a second consecutive 52-week low at $63.06 against a 52-week high of $98.96. Shares closed at $63.39 Thursday night. Volume was about a third lower than the daily average of around 3.7 million shares. The high-end apparel maker had no news today, and the share price turned above the break-even line during the morning session today.

Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN) posted another new 52-week low on Monday. Shares dropped about 4.1% to $44.58 from Thursday’s closing price of $46.49. The stock’s 52-week high is $62.05. Volume is about equal to the daily average of around 1.7 million shares. Citi on Monday followed Goldman Sachs lead and downgraded the stock from Buy to Sell and cut the price target from $68 to $42. Today is the third day in a row for a new 52-week low on the stock. Analysts are concerned that the company’s fitness watches are an endangered species with the release into the wild of the Apple Watch.
