Volume reached about 6.3 million shares, roughly two-thirds of the stock’s daily average volume. The offshore drilling company had no specific news today.
WPX Energy Inc. (NYSE: WPX) dropped about 4.2% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low at $5.03 after closing at $5.25 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.65. Share volume of about 4.2 million was about half the daily average of around 8.5 million shares traded. Volume was about 10% lower than the daily average of around 2.4 million shares. Another independent oil & gas producer that got nailed today.
