Best Buy Touts Store Pickup on Final Shopping Day Before Christmas

Although Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) continues to offer big savings on many items, the Christmas Eve promotion is all about getting that last-minute gift into a consumer’s hands by the time stores close. Customers who order online by 4:00 p.m. local time will be able to pick up their purchases until 6:00 p.m. local time. There are some exclusions (appliances and Marketplace items, for example) and not everything you might expect is available, but store pickup is free.

We’d expect most stores to have stock on consumer electronics gear that Best Buy has been selling at sale prices for most of the shopping season. Here are a few of the company’s most promoted items that are may be available Thursday for store pickup, depending on your local store.

A 13.3-inch Apple MacBook Air with 4 gigabytes (GB) of memory and 128 GB of storage is on sale for $799.99, a savings of $200 from the usual price. Included is a free Internet security program available by download.

Best Buy’s deal of the day for Christmas Eve is the Star Wars Battlefront video game from Electronic Arts, available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $39.99, a savings of $20 from the regular price. The price is apparently available at least through December 28, if you don’t need to have the game for Christmas.

A Fitbit Charge wireless activity tracker (FB404BKL) is on sale for $99.99, a savings of $30 off the regular price, and store pickup availability may vary.

One item that is not available for store pickup is an Apple iPad mini 3, on sale for $249.99, a savings of $150 from the regular price. The iPad mini 4 (MK6J2LL/A), however, at $299.99, is available for store pickup, depending on store availability.
