Asia markets fell sharply.

The Nikkei was off .9% to 17,453. Softbank fell 7.3% to 2785 and Toyota fell almost 3.7% to 8020. Bridgestone was down .4% to 2480. Canon was off 1.1% to 6,400. Fuji Film was down 1.2% to 5030. Hitachi was up 8% to 837. Honda was down 2% to 4330. NEC was down .2% to 627. NTT was down .8% to 623000. Docomo was down .9% to 216000. Sharp was up .7% to 2210. Sony was flat at 6170. Toshiba was off 1.2% to 739.Yahoo Japan fell 2.6% to 43800.

The Hang Seng fell 1.6% to 19,347. Cathay Pacific was down .6% to 19.38. China Mobile was down 1.9% to 71.28. China Netcom fell 3.4% to 17.84. China Unicom fell 2% to 9.7. HSBC fell .3% to 136.3. PCCW was flat at 4.61.

The KOSPI was closed

The Straits Times fell .4% to 3,093.

The Shanghai Composite fell 2.9% to 2,797.
