Markets in Europe were higher at 5.30 AM New York time.

The FTSE was up .7% to 6,214. Barclays was up .5% to 744. BP was up .9% to 526.5. BT was up .3% to 296.5. GlaxoSmithKline was down 1% to 1416. Prudential was up 1.2% to 681.5. Reuters was up 2.9% to 448.5. Unilever was down .4% to 1355. Vodafone was up .5% to 142.25.

The DAXX was up .4% to 6,740. Bayer was up .2% to 43.56. DaimlerChrysler was up 2% to 52.42. DeutscheBank was up .7% to 99.94. Deutsche Telekom was down 2.4% to 13.23. SAP was down .2% to 34.73. Siemens was up .3% to 80.01.

The CAC 40 was up .4% to 5,537. Alcatel-Lucent was down .8% to 9.57. AXA was up .5% to 32.36. France Telecom was down 1.1% to 20.3. ST Micro was flat at 14.67. Vivendi was up 1.2% to 30.2.
