The United States has a long history of firearm manufacturing. Companies across the country produce rifles for hunting, sport shooting, law enforcement, and military use. Over the decades, American gunmakers have helped to shape the modern firearm industry by building strong reputations. They are known for their craftsmanship, reliability, and innovation. The U.S. rifle market covers a diverse range of styles and specialties; brands range from historic manufacturers whose designs date back to more than a century to newer companies with high tech.

The 33 companies on this list are behind some of the best-selling American-made rifles available today. Their products range from classic bolt-action hunting rifles to modern sporting rifles and high-precision options favored by competitive shooters. Together, these dozens of gunmakers remind us how domestic production continues to play a major role in meeting demand for firearms made in the United States.

Using data from the ATF, 24/7 Wall St. identified the 33 companies making the best-selling American-made rifles. We reviewed manufacturing figures for thousands of federally licensed gunmakers in the United States and ranked them on total rifle production in 2022.
